Learning to be the Calm in the Storm
Aren't we all just seeking peace in a chaotic world?
I graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Psychology, thinking I could do some good in the world. In my first job as a caseworker for Social Services, I learned first hand how ill-prepared I was to handle the amount of stress around me. I had some skills, but not what I needed for this. I noticed without these Stress Survival Skills, we get sick, we break down or become so disengaged from the things and people that used to make us feel happy. I realized early on when people feel better, they do better. I found myself with a burning desire to share this simple truth.
After many years of practice and a lot of experience and education, I dedicate my work to helping people feel better. I have been bringing research-based contemplative practices to people at work for over 17 years. My passion is in making an impact on workplace culture by bringing stress reduction into our daily routine.
I have pioneered and implemented Mindfulness and Stress Reduction programs that increase employee engagement and overall wellness in Fortune 500 Corporations, Wellness Centers, Organizations, and Hospitals in the Princeton and NYC areas. I am a guest speaker at schools, colleges, and university programs.
As a more profound commitment to my work, I am in a Mindfulness Studies master's degree program at Lesley University. I am certified to teach Mindfulness by UC Berkley's Awareness Training Institute (accredited by the International Meditation Teachers Association), A Yoga Alliance Continuing Education (YACEP) provider, and an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT-200). I hold a license in Massage Therapy, and I am the proud mom of two children and a couple of crazy Chihuahuas. I have such heartfelt gratitude for my most incredible teachers, Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, Ani Trime Lhamo, Shiva Rea, Larry Payne, and incredibly generous mentors like Oren Jay Sofer. I have learned to teach from the best teachers in the world, and I created this site to share what I have learned with our community online.
